Every first Saturday in June

The annual start of the spring period, and the opening of the farmhouse cheese season.

Every year when the days are drawing out and nature wakes up, the cows are allowed to go outside again. Spring has arrived! The cows graze the fresh spring grass, and the first cheese made from their milk is called grass cheese.

On Grass cheese day the whole city celebrates spring and the new cheese season. That day it’s all about cheese, and a giant 150 kg grass cheese is auctioned for charity. You can taste, watch, and experience!
